Event Report | ESG Committee - Goverance
The FTCC launched its 2026 ESG Committee with a Governance-focused workshop at PwC Tanzania, bringing members together to strengthen ESG practices.
The French-Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce held its first ESG-workshop of the year on 4 February 2026, hosted at the PwC Tanzania offices in Dar es Salaam. This opening session marked the start of the Committee’s technical work for the year and focused on the Governance pillar of ESG. We welcomed members and stakeholders interested in strengthening governance practices within their organizations.
The workshop was led by Benjamin Mkwizu from PwC Tanzania, who presented governance principles relevant to ESG implementation and their application within corporate and organizational structures.
Discussions addressed core governance topics, including ethical leadership, transparency, risk management, and compliance, and examined how these elements support accountability and structured decision-making in a business context.
We also talked about ESG strategy, ESG standards and frameworks, governance roles and responsibilities, and ESG sustainability reporting, providing participants with a clear overview of governance requirements and reporting expectations linked to ESG frameworks.
This first ESG Committee session allowed participants to review existing practices and identify areas for alignment with recognized ESG standards, while also facilitating exchanges on common challenges related to governance and ESG integration.
This workshop marked the official launch of our ESG Committee session series for 2026. We look forward to welcoming you to the next session on 22 April, organised together with Forvis Mazars, during which we will present the ESG Trophy 2025.
