ESG Committee

Mission

The ESG Committee of the French-Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce (FTCC) was established to support the private sector in embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into business strategy, operations, and culture. Its mission is to foster responsible business practices, enhance sustainability performance, and contribute to the long-term resilience of FTCC member companies.

By providing a structured and collaborative platform, the Committee enables members to engage in meaningful dialogue, share expertise, and collectively advance ESG integration within the Tanzanian business ecosystem.

Objectives

• Promote knowledge-sharing and peer learning on ESG topics relevant to the Tanzanian and international context

• Build member capacity through practical workshops, training sessions, and expert-led discussions

• Support companies in aligning with global standards such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and national ESG priorities

• Encourage cross-sector collaboration and partnerships to accelerate ESG adoption and innovation

• Recognize and reward excellence through the annual FTCC ESG Trophy, highlighting impactful initiatives by member companies

• Serve as a resource hub for ESG-related guidance, case studies, and technical tools

This Committee reflects FTCC’s broader commitment to fostering a competitive, inclusive, and sustainable private sector in Tanzania.
