New tax treaty between France and Rwanda
Chrysoula Zacharopoulou (French Secretary of State for Development, Francophonie, and International Partnerships) and Uzziel Ndagijimana (Rwandan Minister of Finances and Economic Planning) signed a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement (DTAA) in Kigali, Rwanda, on Thursday, June 22nd.
This agreement contributes to the strengthening of the Rwanda-France friendship following Emmanuel Macron's visit to Kigali in 2021 and the restoration of a French Ambassador to Rwanda the same year. Furthermore, Rwanda has expressed an ambition to become an African financial hub. With France included, 14 countries now have a Double Taxation Avoidance Agreement with Rwanda.
