On the 25th of January, we have awarded the first ESG Trophy in Tanzania during our New Year Cocktail at the Residency of the French Ambassador.
We’ve organized our New Year Cocktail on the 25th of January to bring together the French and Tanzanian business community. The event took place at the Residency of the French Ambassador and was the opportunity for company leaders to network with potential partners and customers.
This gathering also marked an out-breaking event: the first Tanzanian ESG Trophy. This innovative competition recognizes outstanding contributions to Environmental, Social and Governance principles. Five companies were competing for the challenging award, each proving their dedication to sustainable and responsible business practices.
We were proud to announce GasFasta, represented by his CEO Mohamed Al Beity, as the winner of this innovative ESG Award, recognizing its commitment to environmental, social, and governance excellence. GasFasta is a company providing a digital platform for clean cooking gas distribution. Transition to clean cooking deliver gains across 10 of the Sustainable Development Goals defined by the United Nations. However, access to clean cooking remains limited in Tanzania and this company is able to accelerate this process. By also aiming to provide loans of gas cylinders, they reduce the upfront cost of buying gas, accelerating transition to cleaner cooking gas, improving health and reducing business costs.
With this trophy, we want to reward the companies who have ESG policies in place but above all, we want to inspire those who do not yet have a policy in place or who want to take further actions. We will therefore soon propose our members a platform of exchange on these topics. Stay tuned to know more about it!
