Event Report | East Africa Transport & Infrastructure 2026: Two Days of Dialogue on the Region’s Investment Pipeline

The 12th Edition of the East Africa Transport & Infrastructure conference took place on 12 and 13 October 2026 at the Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam.

Organised by Bricsa Consulting, the event brought together government authorities, operators, developers, financiers, contractors, consultants and technology providers to discuss the projects and policies shaping transport and infrastructure across East Africa.

Around 130 delegates from more than 25 countries attended the closed-door programme, which featured over 30 keynote presentations and three exhibitors. Speakers included Hon. David Mwakiposa Kihenzile, Tanzania’s Deputy Minister for Transport, and Hon. Fred Byamukama, Uganda’s Minister of Transport, alongside senior representatives of LATRA, the Zanzibar Ports Corporation, the PPP Centre, DART, Uganda’s Standard Gauge Railway, Ethiopian Railways Corporation, South Africa’s Railway Safety Regulator, the LAPSSET Corridor Development Authority and the Gautrain Management Agency.

Discussions covered rail, ports, roads, urban and e-mobility, public-private partnerships and investment promotion. Development partners including JICA, UN-Habitat and the World Bank joined private-sector players from the engineering, construction, logistics, banking and rail technology sectors, creating many opportunities for business exchanges across the transport ecosystem.
