EU-TZ Business Forum

The visit of Olivier BECHT to the French-Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce booth was an honor and a testament to the efforts made to boost bilateral economic relations between France and Tanzania. Under President Samia Suluhu Hassan, Tanzania has achieved stability through its commitment to the rule of law.

On the economic front, French exports to Tanzania increased by over 40% in 2022, reaching €71.3 million. Furthermore, around forty French establishments and subsidiaries are investing in Tanzania, generating thousands of skilled jobs. The French-Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce, with 80 members in less than three years, is playing a crucial role in solidifying the presence of French businesses in the country.

This visit showcased French companies’ commitment, resulting in five new partnerships and agreements. These include expanded air services, support for Tanzania's energy transition, water loss reduction projects, streamlined trade with Comoros, and the renewal of a maintenance and training contract with Airbus Helicopters. France's investment in Tanzania continues to grow, and the future looks promising for a strengthened partnership between the two nations.
