Event Report | ESG Committee : Environment
A hands-on session exploring climate-smart practices, and environmental compliance, followed by a collaborative Climate Fresk Workshop.
Following the momentum generated by our ESG Forum "From Commitment to Action: ESG in Practice", the FTCC hosted the second session of its ESG Committee on 7 May, dedicated to the Environment pillar.
The session brought together members and partners for a practical discussion led by Syakaa William on sustainable business practices adapted to the Tanzanian context.
Presentation
The morning covered a range of topics central to environmental sustainability in Tanzania: climate-smart practices, circular economy opportunities, environmental compliance, and nature-based solutions and biodiversity.
Climate Fresk Workshop
The session continued with a Climate Fresk Workshop led by Julien Hederer. Developed by the French nonprofit Climate Fresk, this collaborative workshop uses a card game format to help participants better understand climate change while encouraging discussions around concrete actions for both individuals and businesses.
The session demonstrated that ESG is far more than a reporting exercise: it is a strategic conversation that businesses are increasingly ready to engage in.
Acknowledgements
A special thank you to Jérôme Betat and The Peninsula Club for welcoming us in such a beautiful setting.
The next session of the ESG Committee will focus on the Social pillar, led by Elodie Roussel, and will take place in September.
