Beyond Capital: FTCC members explored how investing in people, knowledge & culture drives lasting business value.
On Friday 27 September 2025, The French-Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce was pleased to host an exclusive members-only workshop entitled Beyond Capital: Investing Where It Matters, in collaboration with WatchOut, a creative consultancy specializing in leadership development and organizational culture.
Held at the Alliance Française of Dar es Salaam, the workshop brought together a diverse group of FTCC members for a dynamic and participative session aimed at rethinking traditional investment paradigms. The discussion focused on the idea that true and lasting business value is not built on financial capital alone, but also on the strategic investment in people, knowledge, and culture.
Through a carefully designed interactive format, participants were guided to reflect on the concept of “capacity as capital” and to consider hidden sources of value within their organisations. The session included an engaging simulation exercise, followed by expert input from the WatchOut team on how internal investments can generate long-term returns in trust, loyalty, and innovation.
At the conclusion of the workshop, each participant was invited to identify one clear investment decision they would commit to implementing in their business strategy for the year ahead.
